We are beyond grateful to Tamina Morgan, who stepped in as our long-term substitute for Choir and truly went ABOVE and BEYOND! She led our final Choir Concert with passion, dedication, and talent — and the result was nothing short of FABULOUS! 🎶✨

Fun at the Assemby
READING MADNESS TOURNAMENT
32 teams were created randomly from students in Read180. By completing segments in the online reading program, students competed in single elimination rounds, earning prizes for each advancement. Additionally, each week that any of the students completed 10% of a segment, they were given a raffle ticket. At the end of the tournament we had a celebration where the champions were announced and the raffle was held.

Native American Flute Project: Mr Griffey's 4th period band class constructed Native American flutes using pvc pipes. This project was intended to foster their creative expression, allowing individuals to explore and create their own melodies and unique flute. It also provided them with a sense of accomplishment.

Heart Attacked by Life Skills Class
Sand Ridge 9th graders Experience Roy High schools CTE/Clubs to get them excited for next school year.
VISTI TO THE CAPITOL
40 of our 8th graders got to attend the capitol for Student PTA Days at the capitol this year! They had to have good citizenship and turn in permission slips to go. If your student went you should be very proud of them. They did a great job and asked some great questions. They got completely spoiled by some of our representatives. Rep. Jake Sawyer took them on an awesome tour, also, did you know he’s a PTSA member at SRJH? Senator Musselman, who is also a SRJH PTSA member, left a meeting a bit early so he could chat with our kids. They got to go behind the scenes and see all kinds of awesome things. Mr. Baca, Mr. Moore, Mrs. Keoppel and Mrs. Smith were amazing! Mr. Baca even got the kids a souvenir bracelet from the Capitol. At least six kids said they wanted to run for office, so watch out parents!

It’s a snowy school day and the guitar students have been coming in the library this week to research a guitarist and the top rock albums. . One student mentioned how great it would be if she could have a cup of hot chocolate while she worked in her assignment. “Guess what! We can arrange that!” Cups. Spoons. Napkins. Marshmallows. Big containers and small packets of cocoa. Chocolate syrup. Caramel syrup. Candy canes. And a Coffee Pro machine to heat the water.. So the junior high school children pretended they were in college, stopping at Dutch Bros for a hot drink, on their way to campus to research on their Chromebooks for their assignments!

Fun PD time with our fur babies. We had a wonderful time seeing employees in a different environment, with their babies. They were all so well behaved and gave most of us some warm fuzzies. Goofy (Bree's doggie) sat on Tami's lap, thinking he was a lap dog and made my heart happy. As an added bonus, we got to witness Layla's Zoey go into caretaker mode. This really is something we won't forget.

The VR headsets help students travel to places that would be otherwise unattainable: in this case, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camps."

In Earth Systems students modeled the process of nuclear fusion, the process that powers our Sun. Students forced sponges together causing water to get released. This modeled how protons get pushed together and energy gets released. In our class, the escaping water represented the release of energy!
