Irvine Grading Policies
Grading break down is as follows:
90+ A /80+ B /70+ C/ 60+D/ <60 F
Each quarter each student has the opportunity to “choose” their grade by selecting their own projects and level of participation. Each quarter will have a grade planning sheet that will be sent home for your signature in an effort to facilitate your informed support. All class work, tests, quizzes, journals, reading logs and assignments constitute a C grade. If students want to earn a grade of B, then two B projects must be completed and turned in at the end of the term. Students may only have the privilege of working on A and B projects if all of their C work is completed and turned in. If students want to earn a grade of A, then two B projects and one A project must be turned in at the end of the term. At the beginning of the term, students need to turn in their project proposal. At midterm, they need to turn a project progress report, and at the end of the term they need to turn in the project. All of these will be reflected in their grades. Project clarifications, ideas and options are listed below.

B Project Options
Please choose 2 B Projects to achieve a “B”grade. Remember that you MUST have all C Work turned in for any projects to count. (If you don’t see anything you like, please design a project. Remember to incorporate reading and writing and get it approved by Mrs. I BEFORE you begin.)
