February: Showing kindness, building character, and growing together.
On February 3rd, our Fremont boys basketball team proudly hosted the annual Life Skills Basketball Tournament. Events like this show what Fremont is all about—coming together, supporting one another, and celebrating the joy of community. Experiencing it firsthand reminds us how special our Fremont family really is.
Another February tradition as old as Fremont itself is the crowning of Mr. Fremont. After a week of competitions featuring lip-syncing, art, skits, and trivia, congratulations to Redd Peterson, who was crowned this year’s Mr. Fremont.
The yearbook staff celebrated meeting a big deadline with an Olympic-themed party. Some of the events included a rock-paper-scissors relay, minute-to-win-it, seat hockey, and "Defend the Cup".
Region Swim Results: The swim team competed in the Region 5 Championship Meet last Friday with strong performances from both teams. The boys team placed 4th, and the girls team finished an impressive 2nd overall.
The following swimmers earned medals by placing top six individually or top three in relays:
Cambelle Hardcastle, Ainsley Hill, Caenna Zkiab, Dana Saltzman, Charly Jepsen, Allie Gaz, Alyx Carson, Laura Zabriskie, Oliver Bird, Jorgen Evans, Walker Hobbs, and Kade Obray.
Our Girls Basketball team beat Clearfield to win the region championship!
Fremont's Drill Showcase was the perfect end to a good season! Our seniors are amazing dancers and leaders and they will be missed.
Our Fremont DECA program is the best in the state, and our students are incredibly fortunate to learn from such a dedicated and talented leadership team—Leanne Allred, Tori Pollard, and Dale Pollard. Their commitment to excellence continues to elevate our program year after year. This year, we are especially proud to celebrate Dale Pollard, who was honored with a special award recognizing 30 years of service to students and DECA.
These results for our DECA student performances at the state competition shows how fantastic our Fremont students are! Our team consisted of 44 students, competing in 59 events. Their coaches were beyond proud!
We are proud to announce that two of our students were accepted to the State Art Show at the Springville Museum of Art—the most prestigious and competitive student art show in Utah.
Each school is limited in how many pieces they may submit, requiring us to jury work from across all visual arts areas (2D, 3D, jewelry, and ceramics) and narrow it down to just 14 entries. From there, the museum selects from over 1,000 submissions representing 100+ high schools statewide, showcasing only the very best student work.
Having artwork accepted—and displayed—in this show is a huge honor, and we are incredibly proud of our students for this outstanding achievement.

Robotics Competition - Fremont Frenzy
Fremont hosted the second annual vex robotics competition. All teams did very well and it was a competitive event. 55117K placed 5th in the qualification rounds and made it to quarterfinals. 55117A and 55117Y were selected to compete in round of 16. What an awesome competition and congratulations to our winners!
Robotics 1 Mario Kart Balloon Battle
The robotics 1 class built, programed, and drove robots to compete in a Mario Kart themed battle. The goal was to pop your opponents balloon while also protecting your own. The competition, hosted at Weber Innovations, was exciting! Fremont fought hard and brought home 3 trophies: the design award, most balloons popped, and the tournament champion.
Our Fremont FFA chapter has been busy this month! For their Week of Service, students created 36 hand-braided dog toys and donated them to the Weber County Animal Shelter.
They also organized a food drive for our own FHS Teen Center, focusing on family-size, meal-in-a-bag kits. Thanks to their hard work and generous donations, they collected 150 lbs of food—including 26 family-size shelf-stable dinner kits, 4 large breakfast bags, 2 large snack bags, and countless grocery sacks filled with easy-to-warm foods.
A big thank-you to Beth Johnson from Counseling who helped get everything stocked in the Teen Center so it’s ready to support students in need over the holiday breaks.
Great job, Silverwolves!
Our Fremont FFA Range Judging team competed this week at the Western National Range Judging Contest in Twin Falls, Idaho! This event brings together dozens of FFA chapters from seven western states with major ranching and rangeland industries—Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.
We are proud to announce that Fremont placed 12th overall in this highly competitive contest!
The team earned their spot at Nationals after placing 3rd at the Utah State Range Judging Contest in October. Team members included Garrison Selman, Owen Hill, Hudson Marriott, and McCoy Marriott. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and the many hours spent studying plants, soils, and land management practices. If you see them, please congratulate these boys!
“What in the world is Range Judging?”
Range judging is a specialized contest where students evaluate rangeland—the natural landscapes used for livestock, wildlife, and recreation. Competitors identify plants, analyze soil and land conditions, assess ecological health, and make management recommendations used by ranchers and biologists to determine appropriate stocking rates for livestock and wildlife populations.
The contest is held quite literally in “the middle of nowhere” and rotates each year throughout the seven participating states. With the extensive math, calculations, and scientific reasoning involved, this event is truly real-world agriculture, conservation, and ecology all rolled into one challenging competition.
CONGRATULATIONS to these students nominated by our teachers as Leaders of the Pack in their classrooms and in our school for the month of November:

During our Welcome Back Student Orientation, our student body officers introduced Fremont High School’s new theme: Live the Legacy.
Live the Legacy is about more than just words—it’s about action. It reminds us that every choice we make, every effort we give, and every way we treat others leaves an impact. At Fremont, we are part of a proud tradition, and this theme challenges us to honor that tradition by learning with purpose, supporting one another, and leaving the school stronger than we found it.
As Silverwolves, we don’t just think about today—we build a legacy for tomorrow.
Principal Quinn Talbot and
Assist. Principal Stacie Palmer
Final Score: Fremont 42, Weber 10
During the season-opening rivalry game at Weber on August 15, our Fremont Silverwolves delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Warriors 42–10. Cade Hadley powered the ground attack with 115 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Manase Tuatagaloa led a balanced offensive assault with 144 passing yards (one TD) and 64 rushing yards. Our defense set the tone with early turnovers and a critical goal-line stand, while special teams ignited momentum right from the kickoff. This all-around effort gives the Silverwolves great momentum as the season gets underway—way to make it count, team!
Our Fremont Cheer and Silverline are Ready to Shine
After practicing hard all summer long our cheerleaders and dance team are ready to shine. They help make Fremont a place full of energy and pride. From leading cheers at games to performing at assemblies, they bring our community together and create an atmosphere of excitement and support. Their hard work, leadership, and school spirit inspire students and showcase what it means to be a SilverWolf!
10 schools competed in the Northern Utah Invitational at Eagle Mountain and Fremont came out on top getting their first win of the season in their first match!
Success at the Fair: Fremont FFA in Full Motion!

Manase Tuatagaloa stands out not only as a great football quarterback but also as one of the most popular and respected students in the school. His popularity comes from his genuine character; he is exceptionally kind and treats every student with the same level of respect and friendliness. Manase makes a point to talk to everyone, making people feel included and valued. Because of his integrity and kindness, students naturally look up to him, making him an outstanding role model for the entire student body.
Ross Howell has been helping out with all Fremont Athletics for the past 10 years. If there is an event at Fremont, then Ross helps run the show. Ross can be seen driving his golf cart or walking to Fremont as school lets out every-single-day. He is always in a good mood and that mind of his is going one million miles an hour at all times. Ross is one of the last ones to leave the school after practices and games. He has input all the time on how we can do things better, and he is usually right. Fremont would not be the same without the contributions and presence of Ross Howell!

Beyond competitions, Silverwolves enjoyed spending time together and building connections through their clubs.
To wrap up the month, we celebrated our Students of the Month! Only 1–4% of our student body is nominated for this honor, making it a truly commendable achievement.
The Boys Cross Country team of Graham Judkins, Beau Jenkins, Zack Steoger, Duncan Judkins, Noah Malan, Kael Jenkins, Zaden Terry, and Alex McDaniel are the Region 1 champions! They also had a strong showing at State, where they finished 6th overall.
