During our Welcome Back Student Orientation, our student body officers introduced Fremont High School’s new theme: Live the Legacy.
Live the Legacy is about more than just words—it’s about action. It reminds us that every choice we make, every effort we give, and every way we treat others leaves an impact. At Fremont, we are part of a proud tradition, and this theme challenges us to honor that tradition by learning with purpose, supporting one another, and leaving the school stronger than we found it.
As Silverwolves, we don’t just think about today—we build a legacy for tomorrow.
Final Score: Fremont 42, Weber 10
During the season-opening rivalry game at Weber on August 15, our Fremont Silverwolves delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Warriors 42–10. Cade Hadley powered the ground attack with 115 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Manase Tuatagaloa led a balanced offensive assault with 144 passing yards (one TD) and 64 rushing yards. Our defense set the tone with early turnovers and a critical goal-line stand, while special teams ignited momentum right from the kickoff. This all-around effort gives the Silverwolves great momentum as the season gets underway—way to make it count, team!
Wrapping Up the Year: December Highlights & Happenings
Fremont High Hosts Grand Opening of New Teen Center: Fremont High School celebrated the opening of its new Teen Center last Friday, the fourth of its kind in Weber School District. The center, designed to support students facing challenges like homelessness and food insecurity, reflects the district's commitment to student well-being.
The ceremony began with a welcome from Emily Oyler, Executive Director of the Weber School Foundation, followed by a musical performance from the Fremont High Choir. Superintendent Gina Butters spoke emotionally about the impact of Teen Centers, emphasizing their role as spaces where students feel seen and supported. Principal Alicia Mitchell encouraged students to make use of the center as a place for connection.
Steve Kier, Chair of the Teen Center Committee, highlighted the journey from the first Teen Center at Two Rivers High School to the district-wide expansion. He thanked key donors and partners, including the Policy Project and the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation.
The ceremony also featured Fremont High’s cheerleaders and student government, and guests enjoyed self-guided tours, tacos, and sweet treats. The new Teen Center stands as a symbol of community support, ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive.
Our very own automotive technology instructor, Arne Erisoty, has been named Weber School District’s "I Love Teaching" award winner for January. With over 30 years of experience, including three decades at Fremont, Arne has made a lasting impact on his students and the community.
Known for his passion, selflessness, and dedication, Arne is admired by both students and colleagues. "Arne genuinely cares about his students and their success," said Dr. Rod Belnap, CTE Director.
Arne's hands-on teaching approach equips students with practical automotive skills, from changing tires to replacing brake pads, while emphasizing professionalism, safety, and innovation. His influence extends beyond technical knowledge, instilling pride and confidence in his students.
Colleagues praise his enthusiasm and willingness to help others, and many former students credit him for their successful automotive careers. For Arne, the greatest reward is seeing his students grow and succeed.
We are so proud of Arne for his exceptional contributions to our school and community and many students he has helped and influenced.
Congratulations to our cheer team for securing 1st place in sideline/timeout cheer at their first competition of the season! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. Here’s to a successful and exciting season ahead!
A Gatsby-Themed Classroom Celebration

To celebrate the narrator’s first Gatsby Party in Chapter 3, they hosted their own Gatsby-inspired event with a bubble machine, 20s music, and soda (to stay true to the Prohibition Era, of course!). She even dressed up to make the experience extra fun. Here’s a photo from our class celebration!
NHS Advisor Colette Remy Reflects on a Successful December of Service
"As we wrap up December, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and collaboration with the NHS Officers and its members. This month has been incredibly busy as we planned our Christmas activities and announced our Veteran Shoe Box Drive. Thanks to the hard work of our Officers and the generous donations from our community, we collected and assembled over 30 shoe boxes filled with warm winter clothing, toiletries, and card games.
Following this successful collection, we hosted our Christmas party, where we tied blankets for the Primary Children's Hospital and created festive Christmas cards. It was heartwarming to see our NHS members come together and make a significant impact this holiday season.
Thank you once again for your continued support, which helps us create such meaningful experiences for our students and the community."

Art Students' Creativity Takes Flight with 'Up' Themed Chicken Coop!
The art department was recently tasked with designing a one-of-a-kind chicken coop, and students rose to the challenge! We held a small competition in a few of the art classes, and the winning design came from Allyssa Governale. Her "Up"-themed design quickly became a favorite, capturing the spirit of the beloved animated film. Several talented students collaborated to paint the base colors, while Allyssa worked her magic bringing the animated characters to life. The finished coop was a masterpiece and was proudly displayed at the Festival of Trees. What a fantastic way to showcase our students' creativity and teamwork!

October Highlights: Falling into Cozy Days and Spooky Nights!
This month, the English Department provided sophomores with a unique and impactful way to engage with history. As part of their preparation for reading Night by Elie Wiesel, students embarked on a virtual field trip to several significant Holocaust sites using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology.
Through VR headsets, students visited the front gates of Auschwitz, toured the gas chambers at Dachau, and paid their respects at the tombstone of Anne and Margot Frank. These immersive experiences took students to locations that are pivotal in understanding the profound tragedy of the Holocaust.
While the excitement of using cutting-edge VR technology was palpable, the mood quickly shifted as students began to grasp the magnitude of the history they were witnessing. As they "stood" at these historic sites, many were moved by the sobering reality of the atrocities that occurred there.
This innovative VR field trip offered a deeper, more personal connection to the events they will soon explore in Night. By integrating these technologies, the English department not only brought history to life but also provided a powerful learning experience that will resonate with students long after they’ve turned the page of Wiesel’s haunting memoir.
Art Department: Creativity in Full Bloom!
The Art Department has been buzzing with creativity this month, showcasing the incredible talents of our students in a variety of mediums. From detailed drawings to stunning jewelry pieces, our students have truly embraced the artistic process and have produced work that inspires and impresses.
In the classroom, students have been hard at work refining their drawing skills, experimenting with different techniques, and bringing their imaginations to life on paper. From intricate sketches to vibrant compositions, the drawings created by our students reflect both their dedication and their unique artistic voices.
But the creativity doesn't stop there! Our jewelry-making students have been crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces, learning the art of design and metalworking. The delicate necklaces, bracelets, and rings they've produced demonstrate incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. Each piece is a testament to the skill and passion our students bring to their art.
In addition to their classroom work, several of our talented students participated in the W.O.W. Art Show at the District Office, an event that brought together artwork from across the district. Our students proudly displayed their creations, representing the incredible talent nurtured in our Art Department. The show was a great success, with students receiving praise for their creativity, technical skills, and innovative ideas.
The Art Department continues to be a place of exploration, growth, and self-expression. We can't wait to see what our students create next as they continue to push the boundaries of their artistic potential! Keep up the great work!
Hope Squad’s Spookygrams Fundraiser: Spreading Holiday Cheer Early!
This October, Hope Squad organized a fun and festive Spookygrams fundraiser to raise money for the Christmas Jubilee Tree and the K4K basket at Fremont. The event was a spooky success, bringing the school community together to support a great cause while celebrating the Halloween season!
Students and teachers purchased Spookygrams, special Halloween-themed notes and treats, which Hope Squad members carefully labeled and delivered to recipients just before Halloween. The excitement and smiles were contagious as the Spookygrams spread holiday cheer to friends, teachers, and staff throughout the school.
Not only did the fundraiser bring a touch of fun to the season, but it also helped raise vital funds for important holiday initiatives. The money raised will go toward providing gifts for the Christmas Jubilee Tree and supporting the K4K basket, ensuring that families in need can enjoy a little extra joy this holiday season.
A big thank you to all the students, teachers, and Hope Squad members who helped make this event a success! Your generosity and spirit of giving are truly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing how this fundraiser continues to brighten the holidays for those in need.
September and October were action-packed months for our Aquaculture, Natural Resources, and AP Biology classes, filled with outdoor learning experiences that brought the natural world to life.
In September, students had the incredible opportunity to witness the Kokanee salmon run at Causey Reservoir. This immersive field trip took them on a nearly 5-mile hike, where they observed the amazing migration and spawning process of these fish. Students from both Mountain View and Wahlquist Jr. Highs joined in on this experience, making it a memorable day of collaboration and learning.
Later in the month, Aquaculture students visited the Logan and Mantua DWR Fish Hatcheries, as well as the USU College of Natural Resources. The trip gave them firsthand insight into the important work being done in fish conservation and management, as well as a deeper understanding of the science behind aquaculture.
October continued the outdoor adventures with exciting electrofishing research. Students ventured to North Fork (Ogden River) and Wheeler Creek near Huntsville to participate in research using electrofishing techniques. This hands-on experience allowed students to learn more about fish populations, water quality, and ecosystem health, while applying their classroom knowledge to real-world environmental science.
These experiences are invaluable for our students, connecting them to the natural world and giving them the opportunity to engage in meaningful scientific research. We’re excited to see how these outdoor adventures will continue to inspire and shape their understanding of biology and environmental science!
Dance Co had an exciting and eventful October, showcasing their talents and spirit during the Homecoming festivities! The team had a blast participating in the Homecoming parade, bringing their energy and school pride to the streets as they marched through the community. Later, they wowed the crowd with an amazing performance at the Homecoming assembly, adding to the school’s vibrant celebration.
Looking ahead, Dance Co is hard at work preparing for the upcoming district show, where they’ll take the stage to perform a series of exciting dances. This month, they had the unique opportunity to work with guest choreographer Paiton Clawson, whose expertise and creativity have added a fresh, dynamic flair to their routines. The dancers are excited to showcase their hard work and dedication in the upcoming performance, and we can’t wait to see their growth and passion shine through!
With their recent performances and upcoming projects, Dance Co continues to inspire us with their talent, teamwork, and love for dance! Stay tuned for more updates on their performances and upcoming shows.
This month, Fremont High FCCLA Officers had an incredible experience at the State Leadership Conference in Provo! The officers participated in a variety of workshops that helped them develop essential leadership skills, plan exciting activities for the school year, and learn valuable life lessons—like the true worth of a $100 bill!
The conference was a great opportunity for our officers to network with fellow students, gain inspiration, and discover what it takes to be effective leaders. From team-building exercises to leadership discussions, they gained the tools needed to make things happen and positively impact the school community.
With such a strong start to the year, these FCCLA Officers are already proving their dedication, hard work, and passion for leadership. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to making a difference, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing things they will accomplish this year!
