As we have been learning, the US has a long history of hate and violence against certain populations, such as African-Americans, people of color, immigrants, Jewish people, LGBTQ individuals, etc. The KKK was a major factor in spreading this hate and violence, but we also learned about how the legal system and ordinary citizens upheld and participated in this violence.
Studying hate groups of the past helps us to understand how and why hate groups still operate in the present day. The sources included in site explore how hate manifests (shows up) in 2022.
