Honoring, supporting, and reclaiming the sacred roles of Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ youth and community members in Warm Springs and Central Oregon
Our mission is to improve Indigenous determinants of health and belonging for Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ youth and community members living on the Warm Springs Reservation and in Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook counties. We provide education and advocacy to indigenize gender and sexual orientation in Central Oregon.
The Central Oregon Two-Spirit Coalition advocates for, learns with, and works alongside Two-Spirit and Native LGBTQ youth and community members living in Warm Springs and Central Oregon.
WSCAT promotes community development in Warm Springs by empowering individuals and groups of people to realize their potential, become self-reliant, and affect positive change for themselves, their families, and their community. WSCAT is also the fiscal sponsor for this Coalition.
Papalaxsimisha serves Warm Springs youth and families using culturally based educational practices and grounded in the acknowledgment and awareness of historical trauma and healing in Jefferson, Wasco, and Deschutes counties.
MMIR Warm Springs honors missing and murdered Indigenous relatives as well as shares missing persons flyers, provides MMIR education, and supports missing persons searches.
Gender Hive is dedicated to improving healthcare access and outcomes, resource navigation, and community connection for trans and gender-diverse Central Oregonians.
Allyship in Action is committed to decolonized planning processes and program development, liberatory leadership development, and actionable allyship to advance collective liberation that is people centered, systems based, and grounded in restorative justice.
Cross sector partners are organizations and entities whose work intersects and supports our vision. While they may be provided opportunities to provide input and feedback, they will typically not be invited to or participate in Coalition meetings or have decision making authority. We will schedule recurring general meetings for to coordinate the supporting work from cross sector partners.
We are a Regional Health Equity Coalition (RHEC) with the Oregon Health Authority. RHECs are community-driven, cross-sector grassroots and non-profit organizations that work together to meaningfully engage in long-term policy, system, and environmental change to increase health equity for communities of color, and those living at the intersection of race/ethnicity and other identities excluded from power and access.
