The application window for credit-bearing ELOs in the 2024-2025 School Year is Open. Everyone is welcome to apply.  It's fine if you don't know exactly what you want to study, Mrs. Smith will explore ideas with you.  


If you are interested in completing an ELO in the 2024-2025 school year, please see Mrs. Smith in Room 228 for an application. 

The program has a cap of 25 ACTIVE ELOs at a time and acceptance/project creation is not a guarantee. 

ELOs in Brief

(Extended Learning Opportunities) 

ELOs are learning experiences that happen outside of the traditional classroom setting.  The purpose of an ELO is to provide an educational experience that is meaningful and relevant by bringing together a student's interests, passions, talents/strengths, and individual learning styles.  An ELO can be anything from an internship to a project-based learning experience to an independent study. Students can earn high school credit while working with community partners/mentors in a setting that works best in collaboration with their project and desired learning goals and outcomes. ELOs are student driven and staff/mentor supported. Students can participate in one ELO Project per academic year. ELOs are Pass/Fail and DO NOT impact GPA.
