Clinical Support

Direct Clinical Support

Provider: Jordan Young, BRYT Clinician

Overview of Provided Supports:

  • Intentional/planned supports: The BRYT Clinician will develop individual clinical goals for the student during her/his time in the transition program, and take responsibility for proactive work with the student toward achieving these goals. This may include individual or group sessions.

  • On-demand supports: The BRYT Clinician will be available to provide, in conjunction with academic coordinator, emotional supports to students upon request (and/or upon identifying a student’s need for immediate support in an interaction); the program counselor will work to align this support with the student’s overall clinical goal(s).

  • Crisis intervention: In the event of a student crisis, the first resource will be the program counselor. If the crisis occurs during a time the clinician is unavailable, the program will look to the school adjustment counselor. In the event that the school counselor is not available, the program will contact a school administrator for triage support.

Note: While the BRYT Program will not have a single clinical model or framework (in light of the many different backgrounds and experiences of the students in the program), there is an expectation of articulated clinical goals for each student, with a focus on the development of skills needed for school success.
