I am so excited to have you in 4th grade this year. Students receive instruction in 4th grade academic subjects (Math, ELA, Science & Social Studies) within my self-contained classroom, and see specialists for Art, Music, Gym and Library. I am Wilson Certified, LETRS trained, and have a passion for literacy. I believe that reading is an imperative life and academic skill, but also one of life's greatest pleasures. I strive to nurture a love for reading within my classroom. Our Math lessons are designed to be engaging and develop essential number sense with students. And, we explore science and social studies topics together to allow students to build knowledge and grow their thinking skills. I am a certified PLTW Launch lead teacher, and bring inquiry-based science explorations into my classroom so students experience hands on learning and develop real world connections.

My biggest goal as a teacher is for my students to love school.  When students feel safe, happy, and part of a classroom community, true learning can happen - and that can be exciting and magical.  I strive to make 4D a place where each student can discover the magic of  learning, explore, wonder, and find their place within our classroom community. I see and value each student for who they are and where they want to grow. In addition to academic skills, we work on social and emotional development, and soft skills that help students become organized and present learners.

Fourth grade is an important transition year for students.  In addition to academic content, students build organizational skills and gain independence and confidence.  All year, we will develop these important skills and get ready to be successful in fifth grade and beyond. I'm so excited to partner with parents and students to make fourth grade a year to always remember!
