WHEN TEAMS ARE TIED FOR A PLAYOFF POSITION
In the event that teams are tied in points for a playoff position, the following procedure will apply:
The team with the most wins in the round robin gains the highest position
The winner of the pool game between the two tied teams gains the highest position (only applies in two team tie)
The team with the least amount of goals against in round robin games shall be seeded highest (be mindful that it isn’t who scores the most goals but who defends their goal best. It is better to win 10-0 than 20-10 if your are in a tie breaker)
If the teams are still tied , then the team with the best goal differential will be seeded higher
Example
Team 1 14 goals for 3 goals against GD= 11
Team 2 12 goals for 3 goals against GD = 9
Team 3 18 goals for 3 goals against GD = 15
Team 3 would seed highest, team 2 second and team 3 3rd
If still tied, team with less penalty minutes shall be seeded in the higher position
If still tied, a coin toss will determine
