The map on the right shows all the Food Banks in our local area. Please check the map and see which Food Bank service area you fall under. The hope is to find one close to you to save you time and money.

Food Hamper: Clients can receive a hamper every 28 days. Their goal is to provide about a week’s worth of food.

All food bank hampers are given out by appointment only. If there is an emergency they may be able to make special arrangements. Please call their office to make a food bank appointment at 780-352-2416.

The focus of this program is to prenatally support women who are at risk due to age, lifestyle choices, financial barriers and or geographical locations in developing healthy nutritional habits during their pregnancy. The program offers:

Nutritious Beginnings can also help participants access
Prenatal classes
Breastfeeding information and support
Parenting groups
Support for counselling on smoking, alcohol, drugs, stress and/or abuse that may be affecting the health of both mom and the unborn baby

Note: if it is discovered that you live outside of the Millet Food Bank's serviceable area, they will work with you to determine a food bank location to better support you.
Proof of income (no minimum or maximum requirement, but the MFB will help identify other supports that might work for you)
How to access services:
People can call or email for an appointment. If that is not possible, then stopping by during our open hours to make an appointment will work also. If there is no other request for support at that time, they can often accommodate an immediate appointment, but no guarantees.

MyAlberta Emergency Benefits lets Albertans apply online to the Income Support Contact Centre for emergency food benefits.
What they offer:
Emergency food benefits by email transfer (Interac e-Transfer).

Fill out an online application. To apply online, you need:

an Alberta.ca Account
a bank account at a bank that offers Interac e-Transfers
a valid Alberta driver's licence or identification card.

211 is a free, confidential service that provides information and referral to a wide range of community, social, health, and government services.
What they offer:
211 operators are trained to help you naviagte social service organizations and help you find:
basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, and financial support)
employment resources
parenting support
counselling/support groups

legal services
