10th Grade

Counselor/Conferencing Time

In the third term of 10th grade, all students and their parents will be invited in for an individual Academic and Career Planning conference. Some of the topics covered will include: 

• Post-secondary planning

• Student transcript review

• Career planning

• Standardized testing 

• Academic planning

• One on One meeting with the student for a year-end transcript review and discussion on how the year has gone

Co-Curriculars

Participation in school activities can enhance a students' school experience.

Benefits of Co-Curricular Involvement:

• Co-curricular activities provide opportunities for character development and valuable life lessons  - teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline and hard work.  These are qualities students need if they are to become responsible adults, productive citizens and skilled professionals.

• Activities foster success in later life.  Participation in activities is often a predictor of later success - in college, a career and in becoming a healthy, contributing member of society.

• Research shows that students involved in co-curricular activities are more likely to have:

  • 1. Higher GPAs

    2. Higher college admission test scores

    3. Better attendance

    4. Lower dropout rates

    5. Fewer discipline referrals
