Local Scholarships are available to Western Reserve students ONLY. They are generously offered by families, organizations, and businesses who have a special interest in Western Reserve.
Every year, the scholarships below become available on February 1 and are due APRIL 1. If the 1st falls on a weekend, the due date is the first Monday following the 1st.
Scholarship winners are announced at the Senior Honors and Awards Banquet sponsored by the Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritans on MAY 14, 2026. 6pm, High School Cafeteria
*3.5 GPA and above are honored by Ruritans and all Local Scholarships are awarded on this night. ALL Seniors are invited to attend for a dinner together

The Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation is happy to once again offer scholarship monies to area high school seniors.The awards are based on financial need, community service and academics.

The Youngstown State University Foundation (YSUF) is an independent, non-profit organization that distributes resources from privately held funds to support YSU students through scholarships. There are currently 622 scholarships awarded through completion of this application. If selected, you will be notified by letter.

The Builders Association will be awarding up to a total of $6000 with a $500 minimum per student in 2025 to aid in offsetting costs for individuals entering an apprentice program. The following criteria apply:
1. Must be a current student in a registered pre-apprentice program through their school district.
2. Must be successfully on track to complete the pre-apprentice program. (paperwork must have been submitted to the carpenters for students to earn pre-apprenticeship certificates)
3. Must intend to apply or enter an apprenticeship program within the construction industry. (any trade)
4. Must have their pre-apprentice instructor certify that they are a student on track to complete the program.
5. Must be a senior in high school.
