How We Can Make A Difference

Yes, the current administration unleashes damaging actions daily. But here's what they can't stop: writers who refuse to be silenced, communities that stand together, and the unstoppable force of organized resistance. Every action counts. Every voice matters. Every week, we rise.

A Weekly Action Menu—Choose One (Or More!):

AMPLIFY → Share powerful voices like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Substack, read and share information from Meidas Touch News, or your favorite voices, so that your platform becomes a megaphone for truth.

SUPPORT → Send even $5 to the ACLU as they fight illegal actions in real time. Small donations fuel big victories.

ENGAGE → Like, share, and comment on posts from allies spreading awareness. Algorithms reward engagement—make resistance go viral.

CONNECT → Check 50501 for local events. Your neighbors are organizing—join them.

• ACLU - American Civil Liberties Union is the nation’s premier defender of the rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. With more than 1.1 million members, 500 staff attorneys, thousands of volunteer attorneys, and offices throughout the nation, the ACLU of today continues to fight government abuse and to vigorously defend individual freedoms. Be sure to become a member. 

• ADL - The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 to “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Now the nation’s premier civil rights and human relations agency, ADL fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all. ADL New England has regional offics in MA, NH, RI, and VT. 

• Brooklyn Girl Books - Randy Susan Meyers' Substack is filled with practical ideas for action, delivered with humor and wit

• Bulwark - Founded to provide analysis and reporting in defense of America’s liberal democracy.

• CrimsonGoesBlue - first alumni-based org in the US dedicated to championing democracy.  Nearly 3000 Harvard alum, students, faculty, staff have joined. 

• Heather Cox Richardson - Letters from an American, a Boston College history professor's daily reports on the history behind today's politics.

• Indivisible - A grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.

• Swing Left - Swing Left helps win elections for Democrats by making it as easy as possible for anyone to have maximum impact on the elections that determine the balance of power in our country. 

• The Free Press - a new media company founded by Bari Weiss and built on the ideals that once were the bedrock of great journalism: honesty, doggedness, and fierce independence. We publish investigative stories and provocative commentary about the world as it actually is.

• The Lincoln Project - Founded by former Republican strategists who understood the grave threat of Trumpism to our nation, the Lincoln Project team has expanded to include individuals from across the political spectrum and are first and foremost: pro-democracy. 

• The Weekly list - Amy Siskind's informed, weekly update tracks specific news stories representing eroding norms under the current regime. Taken together, they reveal a nation pushed towards authoritarianism, the wielding of unchecked governmental authority by one person or group at the expense of the freedom of those who oppose them. 

• Third Act - A community of Americans over sixty determined to change the world for the better, harnessing generational power to safeguard our climate and democracy.

• Third Act Letters-to-the-Editor team - a volunteer organization of concerned climate activists. Since 2015, the team has written and submitted thousands of LTEs to local newspapers, and we have been successful in getting a good percentage of them published. The team is open to anyone who wants to join us in this effort. 

• TurnUP - the largest, fastest growing coalition of youth turnout advocates, more than 13,000 youth orgs, 30,000 + young volunteers, hundreds of partner orgs, and thousands of individual donors from every corner of the country. Since 2019, they have helped register 477,000 young voters.
  50501 - A peaceful, national movement made up of everyday Americans who stand for democracy, and who stand against the authoritarian actions of the Trump Administration. The name 50501 stands for 50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement. grassroots movement. All local events are organized by independent volunteers.

Protect our Immigrant Neighbors & Our Communities

• LUCE Immigrant Justice Network of MA Defense Hotline:  If you think you see ICE in the area (tactical gear, unmarked black vehicles, masked men), call 617-370-5023. 

• LUCE's hotline is open every day, 5 am-9 pm, operating in multiple languages.
