Memorial Bands Virtual Spring Concert 2021
Memorial Mustang's Band Mission:
Woodland Park students entering 6th grade are invited to join the Memorial Mustang's Band program instructed by Mr. Schaefer. Band is a class for students interested in gaining a better understanding of music by learning to play an instrument. For any students that show interest, the course will be scheduled during the school day. Throughout the year, they will learn to play an instrument, read music, perform together as a group. Additionally, students can participate in concerts, town events, and field trips. Joining band is a great way to learn a life-long skill while gaining a better understanding and appreciation for music!
The Band Process:
Students who join band will need to select an instrument to learn. Don't worry... support will be provided for all students who need guidance in choosing the instrument to fit their interest. Throughout the year, Mr. Schaefer will teach the students how to play their instruments during their lessons and classes. By the end of the first year, band students will be able to read music and play melodies and scales on their instrument. As they gain more experience, more musical opportunities will open up to them. Band students in 7th grade can join our Jazz Band. Further, we team up with PVHS Marching Band for all 8th grade students to join! Hopefully, joining band this year will only be the beginning of a life-long passion for music!
