Junior Spotlight- Taluan Hall

This summer, senior Jhyren had the incredible opportunity to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) while participating in the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Massachusetts.

During the program, Jhyren was inducted into the Society of Torch & Laurel Honor Society, received the Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence, and is now an alumnus of the prestigious program. He also built lasting friendships with future leaders from 42 states, including students from Kentucky, New Mexico, New Jersey, and California.

Jhyren aspires to attend MIT after graduation, and this experience gave him an inspiring glimpse into the future he is working so hard to achieve. 

We are proud to recognize Varnado scholars, Barry, Dalien, and Jhyren for their outstanding participation in the Southeastern Louisiana University (SELU) STEM Program!

Throughout the STEM camp, they gained valuable knowledge, explored exciting opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and successfully completed the program while earning a $500 stipend for their participation.
