I am the twin daughter of Cashanda Nichols and the late Brian Nichols. I am the granddaughter of Shirley Jackson and the late Julius Jackson, Sr and Sarah Nichols and the late Ozell Nichols. I have four siblings: Sgt. Cardez Jackson, Jaden Foster, twin Aryanna Nichols, and Ardaryl Bickham. I am also a caring aunt to Jinora Foster.
A proud 8th grade student at Varnado High School, I am a well-rounded student and active leader. I have been a dedicated member of the Jr. High Cheer team for three years and currently serves as Co-Captain. I am an active member of the Varnado High School Volleyball team playing diligently on the high school level and softball team manager. I am deeply involved in her campus life as she serves in numerous organizations, including Jr. Beta Club, Art Club, Jr. Student Council, Jr. National Honor Society, Youth Coalition, and 4-H. I am also the lead singer for the National Anthem for Jr. High Football games.
My commitment to excellence has earned me several honors and awards, including Student of the Month, Banner/Honor Roll, Talented Art Award, Departmental Awards in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. My gift of art earned a placement on the front cover of the Washington Parish Living Magazine Spring 2025.
Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, reading online books, playing online video games, and listening to music. I am an active member of Wesley Ray United Methodist church under the leadership of Pastors Terrence August and Anice Moses. I faithfully sing in the youth choir and am a dedicated acolyte.
After graduation, I plan to attend an accredited university to pursue my dream of becoming a Pediatrician.
Can I introduce you to Zhyiah Reje' Washington? That is my name; yet there is so much more to the person that I am. I am the daughter of Matthew Jr. and Daneeka Washington and the sister of Zhanique Wilson. My grandparents are Rev. Dr. Leonard and Shirley Craft, Sheila Magee, and the late Rodrick Mabon and Matthew Washington, Sr.
Currently, I am a senior at Varnado High School where I proudly serve as the Captain and a 4-year member of the Blue Angels Dance Team, an officer in the Beta Club, Student Council, Key Club, National Honor Society, and as a member of several other school organizations. It is a privilege to volunteer in numerous organizations. It keeps me active in school and the community and allows me to learn new things while meeting people.
Throughout my time at Varnado High School, I have strived to excel in everything that I do - both inside and outside of the classroom. One of my greatest joys is found in helping others, especially the elderly, children with special needs, and/or people diagnosed with autism. Experience gained helping these people continues to shape my character and inspire my future career goals. After graduating high school, I plan to pursue a degree in either social work or nursing with a goal of working with children with special needs.
