Algebra II is an important math course in high school and will guide you through, among other things learned in algebra I, expressions, systems of equations, functions, real numbers, inequalities, exponents, polynomials, radical and rational expressions.

Advanced Math is similarly designed to build on algebraic concepts, but in a more complete manner. It develops more advanced algebra skills and introduces trigonometry and trigonometric functions. It follows a similar pace and topic selection of the Dual Enrollment course offered at FHS. In this course, we will focus on such concepts as equations and inequalities, graphing, functions and their graphs, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, as well as trigonometric functions and their applications, and potentially some early calculus concepts.

This is a course that not only gives you credit for high school but also for Southeastern Louisiana University. Once completed and passed the student is credited with 3 college math credit hours. Topics in the course include: A study of families of functions and their graphs. The families of functions studied will include linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic. These families of functions will be used to model and solve real world applications. A graphing calculator is required for this course.
