I began teaching at Waukegan High School in 2012 and have proudly spent my entire career at the Brookside Campus. As a member of the Social Studies Department, I currently teach AP U.S. History and enjoy supporting students through engaging and meaningful instruction. Since 2014, I’ve also had the privilege of leading the girls soccer program which is an incredibly fulfilling and inspiring part of my WHS journey. I’m passionate about education, and I find joy in helping others grow, learn, and succeed!
I started my teaching career at Waukegan High School in 2014 and have been part of the Math Department ever since. I currently teach AP Computer Science and serve as an Assistant Coach for the Girls Soccer Team. I’m also known as a Quizizz guru and love sharing tech tools that make learning engaging. Whether in the classroom or supporting colleagues, I’m always eager to help others grow and succeed.
I’ve been proud to serve District 60 since 2011, continuing a family legacy as both of my parents are Waukegan graduates and former educators in the district. As a former collegiate athlete, I value collaboration and teamwork, and I believe that working together is essential to strengthening instructional practices and ensuring a high-quality education for all WHS students.
With 25 years in education, I’ve spent 18 of them at Waukegan High School—nine at the Brookside Campus teaching Algebra 2 and Precalculus, and the last nine at Washington as an Instructional Coach and Math Teacher currently teaching Algebra 2 - Sheltered. I’ve also taught middle school math, science, and computer applications. The best part of teaching is seeing students experience those “aha” moments. I’m grateful to help guide young adults toward success—both in the classroom and through coaching.
This is my 15th year in education and my 8th at Waukegan High School. I’ve primarily taught science—Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Physics—and love helping students explore how life works through the scientific process. A teacher once told me, “When you stop learning, you stop living,” and that quote continues to guide my approach. As a WIN Trainer, I value using technology to support lifelong learning for both students and teachers. Outside of school, I enjoy music, art projects, nature walks, and spending time with family, friends, and my cat, Raven.
As a proud Waukegan Public Schools alum, I have dedicated over 20 years of my career to serving the Waukegan community that once helped shape me. I have spent most of my time in Waukegan as an English, ESL, and intervention teacher, and I am always looking for my next adventure. I enjoy partnering with colleagues to solve problems, brainstorm new ideas, or reflect on the possible next steps. With deep roots in the community and decades of teaching experience, I am excited to support WHS teachers and students as we all continue to grow and succeed.
