Puppetry Workshops
Come check out our monthly open studio in The Fine Arts Building: 410 S. Michigan Ave. Suite 501/5th floor. Poke around the space, meet other Puppet Fest folks and wander the Fine Arts Building’s open studios. It’s completely casual, free and all are welcome. We will have light refreshments, good company, brief performances, and lots to see.
Public transportation is encouraged. Parking is available in the South Grant Parking Garage, and the door is 30 feet from the building. No parking validation is available. There are also paid parking lots on Wabash at Roosevelt and Van Buren.
Artist in Residence: Puppetry Master Class
Level: Beginner
Ages: K-Adult
Duration: 1-3 hours
Description: This master class/lecture explores and covers all styles of puppetry, including Hand, Glove, Tabletop, Shadow, Mask, and Costume puppetry. Participants will learn the importance and how each style of puppetry is used then be able to get hands-on practice by choosing a style of puppet and exploring its movement.
