Team relay is a group and round-based axe & knife throwing game.
Using Hatchets, Big Axes, and Knives all in one game, teams compete head to head with 3 team members throwing together on the same target!
This exciting format is a just-for-fun (and prize money) additional event offered before WAKTC championship brackets start.
Game structure
3-5 person teams (open to everyone - not just WAKTC competitors!).
Each game consists of a minimum of 5 rounds.
Round wins: The team that scores the highest in a round moves onto the next implement.
Round ties: If teams end a round with the same score, the round restarts and both teams throw again.
Round losses: If a team loses a round, they will throw the implement they lost with for the next round.
Played in a double elimination bracket, Single Game (not best 2 of 3).
Game wins: The team that first wins a round with Knife (15'), wins the game
Game ties: On a game tie, teams will play sudden death with (15') Knives.
Game losses: The team that does not win a Knife (15') round first in the game loses, and is either knocked down to B bracket or eliminated.
Gameplay
Each round is one team throw, defined by three members throwing the same implement before any are retrieved.
Before each game, teams are able to take 3 warm up throws in this same style.
Implements are retrieved only when all have been thrown and stopped moving, for each round.
Teams start with (10') Knife, and progress as they win rounds in:
Knife (10')
Hatchet (12')
Big Axe (15')
Hatchet (15')
Knife (15')
The team in the lead throws first.
On an implement-round tie (both teams on the same implement after round 1), the team who advanced to that implement last, throws first.

Killshots are always open for all implements.
Outer bullseyes are closed for all implements except Big Axe.

Scored in the app using Hatchet Rec Unsanctioned tournament brackets.
Teams will be setup in the app using just the Team Captain’s Player ID.
Enter scores for each round as a 1 for a win and 0 for a loss.
Entry fees & PRIZE POOL
$100 per team (~$20-$33 per team member)
50% payout. Payout depths are based on final sign-ups.
