CHECK OUT FINAL REMINDERS ON THE HOME PAGE!!!
Team names are the 3 last names of your teammates, with the captain first.
Skills is split into 2 rounds
Skills round 1 - PBR 6 Pack and Bandito Brawl
Skills round 2 - Relay and Toro Target takedown
Brackets will be split into Groups (1 and 2). You will be in opposite groups for each round of Skills.
For example, Group 1 PBR 6 Pack will also be Group 2 Bandito Brawl.
You may be in a different group for the second round of Skills, be sure to check which one you're in!
Skills games will be run at the same time. Group 1 and Group 2 will start in corresponding halls, then switch halls for the next game.
Once you have been eliminated from the first Skills game, MOVE TO THE OTHER HALL to begin the next Skills game.
For example, PBR 6 Pack Group 1 will start in Hall A. When you are eliminated from the PBR bracket, move to Hall B to start the Bandito Brawl Group 2 bracket.
For all Skills, games will be self-scored by the competing teams.Â
All Skills games are TOUCH scoring.
Lane judges will be floating between lanes should you have any questions or need a ruling on a close call.
Once a winner is determined, you will input it into the App. If you do not feel comfortable using the App, call over a judge to score the winner. Skills brackets will be set up as single-game Big Axe matches.
Scores do not matter, only who the final winner is.
Score 1's for the winning team and 0's for the listing team to push the match.
DO NOT use manual override or score any matches that are not yours.
BE SURE TO HIT DONE AFTER SCORING so that the next game can be called.
If the wrong team is pushed through, call a Head Judge to correct the issue.
Check out these one-pagers for simplified versions of the Skills games and brackets.
Skills Hall B (Bandito and Toro)
There will be no warnings for foot faults. The tape is the fault line, if you step on it, you will receive a foot fault.
Judges wearing yellow referee jerseys are the head judges and are the only ones who can make second calls. Tabitha Carroll and Benn MacDonald have the final say on any rules discrepancies.
Purposeful distractions will not be tolerated. This is your ONLY and FINAL warning.
There will be no warm-up times for any disciplines. All throwers will receive 10 throws before their first match and 1 throw between games and matches.
SKILLS: All throwers will receive 3 warm-up throws before any match. For Relay, this does not mean 3 per implement, it is 3 total per teammate. When taking Skills warm-up throws, please try to avoid the actual targets themselves, so no board changes are needed throughout the games and brackets run quickly.
Keep all axes and knives sheathed when not in use.
Have a buddy system - someone to listen for your matches if you have to step away from the competition hall.
If you are attending the ESPN broadcast, NO LARGE BAGS will be allowed. We will have a space to drop bags if needed, but you will not be allowed to bring them into the broadcast space.
