Admission Information

Effective January, 2021:

  • All students interested in the ETA must complete an online application. This application is on the ETA Home Page as well as on the district's Career Pathways page (under Academics).

  • The application, the application process, and program information will be shared by each WPS Middle School with their respective 8th grade students.

  • Application and Program Information is sent the guidance offices of all WPS middle schools, along with the guidance offices of many local private, parochial, and charter schools in the region.

  • For WPS Students - the applications will be scored by the central administration database.

  • For non-WPS Students - the Doherty CVTE Coordinator (Mr. Staley) will request the relevant documentation from the student/family and/or directly from the school.

  • The first round of applications are considered in the beginning of April. Students should have their applications submitted and received by Doherty by March 15th in order to be considered in the first round of applications. Applications are still accepted after this date, including throughout the summer.

  • Applications are considered on a rolling admission. This means that students are accepted or placed on the wait list based on their application score, and the number of positions available within the ETA.

  • Grade 9 enrollment is limited to 100 students.
