Students may be charged up to the full replacement cost of a device for tampering with an asset tag or turning in a device without an asset tag.
How do I start up my Chromebook?
Be sure your Chromebook is charged by plugging it in. You should see a light next to the plug on the computer.
Next, open the Chromebook and wait 10 seconds. If nothing happens, press the power button on the keyboard.
How does my Chromebook work?
What if I am locked out of my account?
Ask an adult to help you contact your teacher to reset your password. Follow your teacher’s directions to log back in.
OR Ask an adult to help you send a message to mailadmin@worcesterschools.net to let them know that your account is not working. They will reply to the message with directions.
OR Contact an IT Tech or Technology Coach listed on this page.
What should I do if my Chromebook is permanently lost, stolen, or damaged?
The district has insurance on the Chromebooks for damage and spills. Please let your teacher or principal know immediately if the Chromebook has been damaged so that it can be fixed. It will be fixed at no charge to you.
The district DOES NOT have insurance on theft or loss so please secure the Chromebooks and keep them safe. Designate a room in your house where the device will be returned and charged at the end of the day. See page 8 for information about theft, loss, or damage reporting.
