Two music classes a day plus free in school private lessons on your instrument each week!
The Burncoat Fine Arts Magnet Program in Worcester, MA offers an arts-centered approach to education grades 7 through 12. It is a college preparatory program of study that prepares students each year for advanced music performance.
In addition to the two music classes a day, students also receive a scholarship for free weekly in-school private music lessons. They have the option of studying violin, voila, cello, trumpet, french horn, trombone, tuba, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, percussion (including drum set), piano, guitar, or voice. These lessons are taught during the school day by our team of trained professionals. They help students refine skills on their main instruments in order to perform in recitals and many other concerts throughout the greater Worcester community.
Students participate in six years of Music Magnet classes in which they learn music theory, aural skills, composition, music tech, history, literature, performance skills and AP Music Theory. Ensemble opportunities include Chorus, Select Chorus, Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble and more!
