Welcome!

Read on to learn a little more about me...

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website! I am excited about this school year and look forward to spending time with all of the children. Prior to coming to Mary Shoemaker School, I was a teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich Township School District. I taught Kindergarten for seven years, followed by five years in 2nd Grade, and then four more years as a basic skills instructor for 1st and 2nd graders. I taught there for 16 years and loved working with all of my students! Although this will be my first time in 4th Grade, I am excited to take all of my knowledge and help your child grow as a learner.

I also want to give you a little bit of information about myself...

I currently live in Woodstown, NJ with my husband, Alex, and our two boys, Zander, who is in 8th grade and Bradley, who is in 6th. My husband and I both attended Woodstown High School - I guess we are a family of Wolverines! We also have two cats, Brady and Quinn, and an adopted dog named Ellie!

I have many different hobbies. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I am also an avid reader and have been since I was a child; Mr. Snitcher got me a Kindle a long time ago and I love it! This summer I read SO MANY books. All three of my boys love to camp and so do I now that we have a camping trailer. We have traveled to some fun places and enjoy spending time outdoors. And finally, our family is a big fan of Notre Dame Football. Most of our weekend time is spent supporting the boys on sports fields and courts, whether it be soccer, flag football, basketball, or wrestling.

I was born and raised in Salem County. I attended Rowan University and graduated summa cum laude in 2004 with my BA in Elementary Education and Sociology as well as my Reading Certification. I became a Kindergarten Teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District in September 2004 and have been teaching ever since. I am so excited to be on a new adventure as a part of the Woodstown PACK!
