Grades & Expectations
Grades:
The final grade for the year is weighted:
Spanish III:
T1 = 28%
T2 = 28%
T3 = 28%
Midterm exam = 8%
Final exam = 8%
Spanish IV
T1 = 30%
T2 = 30%
T3 = 30%
Midterm exam = 5%
Final project = 5%
AP Spanish
T1 = 30%
T2 = 30%
T3 = 30%
Final project = 10%
I will update PowerSchool every 2 weeks, but I encourage you to keep track of your own grades as well. All work will have a point value. You will know your grade by adding up your total points and dividing them by the total points available.
Example:
Weekly Dictados = 20 pts.
Pesos for week = 10 pts.
Quiz = 25 pts.
HW on studyspanish.com = 10 pts.
At the end of the trimester, if all of the points add up to 400 and a student earned 329 of them, then the grade would be 329/400 = 82%
Academic Integrity & Accountability
Part of our school's mission includes the words "exemplary character." I expect you to maintain your academic integrity. Your work must be your own. Work that is not your own will receive a 0% without the ability to re-do.
Late work:
Ideally, you will get your work on time and do it well! Work that you do not submit on time will not be worth full credit. For every day it is late, you will lose a letter grade from its original worth. So, if you earned a 91%, it will be an 81% if it's a day late, 71% if it's 2 days late, etc.
