"Ask Beckett About Video Games" is a new feature on The Woodland Times where the readers can ask any of their video game questions they may have and I will reply to three different questions every time we publish. I look forward to your future questions. ~ Beckett Ziegler
Q: What is your favorite video game? Harrison, Upper Village
A: I like many games but if I could name a few I would say Fortnite, Orion Drift, and Animal Company. All of these games I play frequently and enjoy very much. Probably my favorite out of the three is probably Animal Company. This is my favorite because it's a VR game and I play it all the time. The rest aren't horrible games, but I think Animal Company is just superior. Because it is an open world VR game where players can upgrade a tech tree to get items like a rpg, grappler, explosives and way way more.
Q: Why do you play videogames? Anonymous, Upper Village
A: I play video games for fun and it’s a great time killer and a way to meet people in other places around the world and even make friends. I also play games because I make Youtube videos about some that I play (@Co0kie_4554 to check them out). I also play video games because I can escape reality and be in a space I enjoy and can somewhat control. Video games are also an activity that I'm really good at and I don't think I will ever not play them.
Q: Do you prefer newer versions or older versions of games? Maggie, Upper Village
A: In my opinion, newer games are increasingly better just because they have better visuals and better game mechanics. Old games have that nostalgia. Super Mario will never be topped by another game just because of the nostalgia of playing it. New games might have the performance that I love and prefer them but I also love older games but I just prefer new ones for a better playing experience and newer ventures that newer games have to offer. Aslo a better part about newer games is that sometimes they introduce amenities people may have never seen before like what Nintendo is doing with their Switch 2 like adding a mouse feature to the controller and adding a voice call feature so players can call friends right from the Switch.
