November 14th - Career Day (Food Trucks!)
All Hands on Deck: Career Day for Woodland Christian High School students will be on Friday, November 14th! We are looking for presenters for this special event. Professionals from a wide variety of career paths are welcome to present! If you would like to present your career, or know someone who is willing to present, please click HERE for more information, and to sign up by 10/31. We are specifically welcoming back presenters who have joined us in the past, as well as looking to add fresh, new, out-of-the-box career fields that our students may not know much about yet. (Think game warden, cake decorator, interior designer, beekeeper, AI ethicist, DJ, botanist, bladesmith, diver, etc. The world is your oyster!) Thanks so much for making November 14th a memorable and inspiring day for our students!
Eligibility Policy
Eligiblity Flow Chart
Students will be allowed 1 late day before an assignment will be entered as a zero. The policy states, “Meeting deadlines is a skill that will help students be successful in school and beyond. We encourage students to turn in work by the assigned due date to receive full credit. Work turned in up to one class period after the due date will receive between 10-20% deduction (based on teacher discretion). After one class period, students will not receive credit for the assignment.”
You may consider using a planner to will help with organization, planning, and accountability.
Check out our College & Career Resources page! Don't miss important information to help your student explore the many opportunities God has in store for their future!
The complete high school dress code is included in the parent/student handbook but we wanted to remind everyone of a few basic points:
All clothing should be modest, neat and clean.
Garments must be long enough to fully cover the torso when standing or sitting.
This includes being long enough that the midriff is not visible when the arms are stretched straight above the head.
Pants must fit appropriately with no baggy or saggy styles accepted. Students may wear jeans, khakis, shorts that are no shorter than 4 inches above the bend at the back of the knee (rips in jeans must also not go above this line).
Athletic or loungewear is also not permitted in this scholarly environment.
Clothing and appearance must support the policies, principles, and philosophies of WCHS. Fashion or art designs in any form supporting death, occult, negative pop culture, sexually suggestive content, alcohol, tobacco, drugs or lifestyles inconsistent with the position statements of WCHS are not acceptable.
Students will not be permitted to start class out of dress code. Students will need to comply with the dress code before starting school each day.
Carpool Information
Map
MS and HS parents may drop off or pick up their students at the yellow curb in the parking lot south of the gym. If you do not have an ES student, this is a great way to avoid the traffic in front of the elementary school. Watch this video to learn about all the fun details of carpool this year:
Please remember these Top 10 Tips for Carpool:
#1 Pick up & Drop off are always better by way of Sports Park Drive
#2 Right turns are our best friends
#3 Pay attention to the "Air Boss"
#4 Use your blinkers
#5 Pull as far forward as you can during carpool
#6 Don't stop in the right-hand lane in front of the MS/HS
#7 The HS Student Parking lot is only for high school student drivers
#8 Golden Rule of Carpool: Don't hit anyone or anything
#9 The Fruits of the Spirit still apply during carpool
#10 Drive carefully in our surrounding neighborhood (especially if you have a WCS sticker on your vehicle :)
1. When using the south parking lot entrance, please use the correct lanes for entrance and exiting. This is a new entrance to our campus this year and we've had numerous accounts where drivers have used the exit lane to enter the campus and almost crashed into vehicles that were exiting. This has oftentimes been the result of students rushing onto the campus.
2. Drivers entering/exiting the south parking lot entrance do not have the "right-of-way." Eastbound vehicles on Sports Park Drive, turning left onto Matmor Road have the "right-of-way" to continue down Matmor Road without impedance of traffic entering/exiting our new driveway. Southbound vehicles on Matmor Road, turning right onto Sports Park Drive have the "right-of-way". Southbound vehicles on Matmor Road looking to turn left into our new driveway must yield to traffic turning from Sports Park Drive onto Matmor Road. Drivers entering to or exiting from our new driveway need to yield to both the traffic on the roads and pedestrians.
3. Be courteous to our nearby residents when driving. We have had issues with residents near our campus being unable to enter onto Matmor Road from their street. This is most noticeable near the round-about near Tyler Court. Please provide a gap at these intersections for residents to be able to access Matmor Road. Please keep your speed down in our neighborhood as well. We appreciate our community and want to do all we can to keep a safe atmosphere for the nearby residents.
