Willamette Promise is:

  • An option to get college credit in some of of your Junior and Senior level high school classes

  • Sponsored by Willamette ESD, Western Oregon University and Oregon Institute of Technology

  • No cost! All fees are covered by the Woodburn School District

  • May require additional work beyond normal class requirements

  • No Risk! Students choose to register for college credit after the teacher determines a grade.

Subjects available:

  • Writing - Available in some LA 3 and LA 4 classes

  • Biology - Available in some Junior and Senior level biology classes

  • Chemistry - Available in some Junior and Senior level chemistry classes

  • Math - Available in some math classes: College Prep Algebra;

  • Spanish - Available in some Junior and Senior Spanish classes.

What do students need to do?

If Willamette Promise is an option in a class:

  • Students need to inform their teacher they are attempting Willamette Promise credit

  • Students need to complete Willamette Promise course requirements

  • Students will need to register as a student at WOU or OIT, depending on the class

  • Students will need to request transcripts from WOU and/ or OIT to transfer credit to another college or university
