Most classes require students to take a math, writing and reading placement test first. We want you in classes that aren't too hard or too easy. Students start out taking designated Early College classes with other high school students - these classes are still taught by Chemeketa professors. Most students start out by taking Math and Writing classes, but there are also Psychology, Health, History and Science options as well. Students successfully complete two terms of Early College classes can take other classes from Chemeketa not on the Early College list.

No, but you do need to be on track to graduate. Graduating from high school in the state of Oregon requires 24 credits. Each year you are in high school you should earn at least 6 credits to stay on track for graduation. This means that after Sophomore year you should have at least 12 credits and after Junior year, you should have at least 18 credits. If you are not sure if you are on track - ask your school counselor.
The Woodburn School district will pay for all Early College fees and transportation. Books and other required materials will be checked out to you from our high school library.
Oregon Promise is a program that will pay for 90 community college credits for any student who graduates from an Oregon high school with a 2.5 GPA or better. All college credits students earn in high school count towards the 90 credits. Oregon Promise cannot be used at a four year university. 90 credits is the number of credits required to earn an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree (AAOT) which will cover the first two years of school at an Oregon public 4-year university.
