Summer of the Mariposas: Chapter 13

I could hear the Lechuzas whispering menacingly above me, up on the roof, but I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I unzipped the tiny front pocket of my shorts as slowly as possible, trying not to draw attention to myself. But the minute I pulled out the piece of marked silk thread, the Lechuzas launched themselves off of the roof and flew into the bar, wailing and screeching. “

When the Lechuzas come flying in the barn and start attacking my sisters and me. The Viboron comes in also while the Lechuzas start fighting with us. The Viboron crays and hides in the corner of the barn, whispering to himself. Viboron is whispering, “ Repent! Repent! Repent!” to himself to make the Lechuzas say it too.

The Lechuzas said, “Repent! Repent! Repent!"

Momma used to tell us a story about Viboron; Viboron is the leader and says the master of the Lechuzas. He tells them what to do and say, Momma, explains.

My sister and I said, "STOP! For crying out loud," at the Lechuzas.

On our journey for the first time, I wanted to cry. The Viboron was still in the corner watching what was going on, but something was off about Viboron. He was sitting there in the corner with his sinful eyes; ready for something to happen. While Juanita and I were fighting off the Lechuzas, the twins ran out to go find some weapons. The twins ran back into the barn with some weapons, to fight off the Lechuzas. The Viboron had an operation to sneak out and scare us. Viboron jumped out and jumped on my back

I’m scared and said “Get it off! Get it off! for crying out loud."

Delia uses the bat to knock Viboron off of her back. Viboron goes falling off of my back and ends up scratching me on my back. Viboron hits the wall in pain and is knocked out from the hit that Delia did to him. When the Viboron got hit, it made him able to see stars. Meanwhile, I’m checking up on my sisters to make sure they are all ok.

The Viboron gets back up with fear in his eyes but is not fazed by it. Even though the Viboron is put up, it doesn’t mean that he has his strength back. Delia grabs the bat again and gets ready to hit him.

Velia said, “Finish him!” like in Mortal Kombat; when you're about to win. Delia gets the bat in her hand and hits him upside the head where he won’t wake up for a long time. My sisters and I make sure that now that the Leuchuzas and Viboron are knocked out for good. My sisters and I were making sure that no one was badly injured.
