Student Expectations:
Students are expected to bring all of their required materials to class. Detentions will be issued if a student consistently forgets their instrument/required materials.
Students are expected to practice every day for at least 30 minutes. Practicing is imperative to the success of a band student. Parents, please hold your student accountable and do not be afraid to reach out with questions!
Bathroom Breaks/Leaving the Classroom:
I am generally compliant when it comes to restroom breaks during class. HOWEVER, if I start to suspect that students are taking advantage of my trust, I will start to say no. Please leave the classroom only when necessary!
Grading Policy:
It is vital that parents & students understand how the grading system works in my classroom.
Please read the following information very carefully:
Students are graded based upon performances in Google Classroom Videos and Live Classroom Performances.
These assignments/quizzes/tests will come up often. It is imperative that students are in the habit of practicing at home to prepare for them!
If a student performs poorly on any assignment, quiz, or test they will have the opportunity to try again as many times as necessary! Success in band is based upon mastery. Every concept builds upon a previous concept. Thus, it is important that I give my students every chance to do better!
All grades become final at the end of the quarter. When the gradebook closes, all chances to make up poor or incomplete grades will expire.
