Due to increasing enrollment, the School Committee has voted to have administration undertake a redistricting process to address significant capacity challenges and a more efficient use of school facilities. The last redistricting occurred over 30 years ago, and since then, the WPS has experienced notable changes in demographics, student enrollment, and educational needs. As a result, the current school boundaries no longer provide the most effective distribution of students across our schools, leading to overcrowding in some areas and underutilization in others.
