Parent and Student Information
Students arriving between 7:30- 8:00 must go straight to their homeroom classroom
Bus dismissal at 2:30

K-6 walkers at 2:40

Students will alternate between eating in the cafeteria and having “takeout” in their classrooms. There is a schedule provided with designated lunch times, teacher’s lunch time on “takeout” days and duty personnel for both schedules.
Students will walk through the lunch line, but will practice social distancing. Students will have marked seats and eat only with their pod to ensure social distancing and consistency.
Only 3 students will sit at a table. These are large tables, and 12 students usually sit at one table.
Teachers will be with the students during lunch in 20 minute increments to supervise and assist all students.
The cafeteria tables will be disinfected before each grade level enters. Five minutes have been added between each lunch rotation to ensure time for cleaning.
Dear Parent or Guardian:
Our school, Bragg Elementary, receives federal funds for Title 1, Part A programs. Throughout the school year we will be providing you with important information about this law as it relates to your child’s education. This letter lets you know about your right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of the classroom staff working with your child. Our district or school will be able to provide you with the following information regarding the qualifications of your child’s teacher(s):
1. Whether the teacher meets the state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grades and subjects he or she teaches.
2. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status because of special circumstances.
3. Whether the teacher has any advanced degrees and the field of discipline of the teacher’s certification or degree.
If at any time your student has been taught for four (4) or more consecutive weeks by a person who does not have state certification, you will be notified by the school.
You also have the right to request information regarding the qualifications of the paraprofessional(s) assisting your child’s teacher(s). If your child is receiving Title 1, Part A services from a paraprofessional, then our district or school is able to provide you with the following information:
1. Whether the paraprofessional has completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education.
2. Whether the paraprofessional has completed an associate’s degree (or higher).
3. Whether the paraprofessional has met a rigorous standard of quality through our state’s certification procedure for determining the quality of paraprofessional staff.
4. Whether the paraprofessional has: (a) the knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics or (b) the knowledge of and the ability to assist in learning activities, such as homework, reading readiness, writing, mathematics, and other support as appropriate.

Bragg Elementary School-Parent Compact
Bragg Elementary and the parents of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title 1, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (participating children), agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.
This school-parent compact is in effect during school year 2020-21.
School Responsibilities
Bragg Elementary will:
1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment
2. Use Arkansas Common Core frameworks to pace and guide instruction
3. Modify instruction for individuals or a class based on results of common formative assessments, progress monitoring and other assessments.
4. Provide frequent reports on child’s progress through report cards, progress reports, weekly folders, and access to the online Gradebook program
5. Hold a minimum of two parent teacher conferences (October 26, 2020 and March 18, 2021) These dates are subject to change.
6. Provide access to staff
7. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer at school and participate in their child’s education
Parent Responsibilities
We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:
-Monitor schoolwork
-Volunteer in my child’s classroom or other areas of the school
-Participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my child’s education
-Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time
-Stay informed about my child’s education and communicate with the school by reading
correspondence from the school and initiating communication when necessary
-Serving, to the extent possible, on school committees
Student Responsibilities
We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve high standards. We will:
-Attend school regularly
-Do my homework every day and ask for help when I need it.
-Give to my parents or the adult responsible for me all notes and information received by me from the school
-Read every day outside of school time
-Follow the rules, procedures, and policies of the school/classroom
-Be actively engaged in the learning process
-Come to school every day with pencils, paper, and tools necessary for learning
-Set goals

To develop a partnership with parents, we will:
-Involve parents in the planning, review, and improvement of the school’s parental involvement policy
-Involve parents in the development of any school wide program plan
-Hold an annual meeting to inform parents of the school’s participation in Title 1, Part A programs and additional parental involvement meetings during the year
-Provide information to parents in an understandable and uniform format, including alternative formats upon the request of parents with disabilities, and, to the extent practical, in a language that parents can understand
-Provide to parents information about Title 1, Part A programs, including a description and explanation of the school’s curriculum, the forms of assessment used to measure children’s progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet
-On request of parents, provide opportunities for regular meetings for parents to formulate suggestions, and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions about the education of their children
-Provide each parent with an individual student report about their child’s performance on state assessments at least in math, language arts and reading
