2021 Assessment Excellence Award Winners

The WMU Assessment Excellence Awards are presented annually by the University Assessment Steering Committee (UASC) to acknowledge and celebrate assessment work that has led to verifiable improvements in academic or learner support programs. We are always excited to learn about and honor the great work that is being done to use assessment results for continuous improvement of learning and student success at WMU, and these awards help us to do that.

2021 UASC Individual Assessment Excellence Award Co-winners

Congratulations to Adrienne Fraaza, Director of the Office of Student Transitions, and Dr. Amanda Karsten, Faculty Specialist in the Department of Psychology, who were co-winners of the University Assessment Steering Committee (UASC) 2021 Individual Assessment Excellence Award. The UASC deemed that the work of both winners be recognized with this award in 2021, as they were equally deserving.

*At the time of these interviews, Dr. Karsten was no longer working at WMU, but we spoke with Dr. Jonathan Baker, Chair of the WMU Psychology Department, who graciously sat down with us for an interview.
