The West Marshall Concert Band is the cornerstone of the West Marshall Band Program, and is directed by Mr. Spencer Marsh. The West Marshall Concert Band begins in the second quarter of the school year, and annually performs at three concerts as well as at the IHSMA Large Group Contest and the All-Iowa Concert Band Festival. Students are encouraged to take private lessons on their instruments in order to receive the individual attention necessary to advance their skills. Auditioning for and participating in honor bands is recommended for any student looking to improve their musicianship and technical skills. The West Marshall Concert Band rehearses daily during first hour, and students receive an individual or small group lesson weekly.

The West Marshall Trojan Regiment is made up of about 50 students, and is one of the premiere marching ensembles in the state of Iowa. The Marching Trojans are directed by Spencer Marsh, Brody Halter, and Darrah Pickard. The 2024 season was highlighted first place finishes at Valleyfest Showdown and Mid-Iowa Band Championships, a second place finish at the Marching Dutch Invitational, a Division I rating at IHSMA State Marching Contest, as well as multiple caption awards. The Trojan Regiment performs at five competitions throughout the fall as well as at all home football games and local parades. Every fall, The Trojans also host their own marching contest known as Small Town Showdown. The ensemble rehearses from 7:00am - 8:40am five days a week with a five day band camp prior to the school year.

The West Marshall Jazz Band was founded in 2014, and has had considerable success in its young life! After receiving its first invite to the Iowa Jazz Championships in 2016, the West Marshall Jazz Band placed 6th place in class 2A in 2017, 8th place in class 2A in 2018, 3rd place in class 2A in 2019, and made an IJC appearance in 2023!

The West Marshall Jazz Band is an auditioned group that rehearses from 7a - 8a, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings October through March or April. Directed by Mr. Spencer Marsh, the West Marshall Jazz Band seeks to cultivate student growth through individual part playing and improvisation in the jazz style. The West Marshall Jazz Band performs at 5-6 festivals annually, as well as at home concerts.
