About me:

My name is Mrs. Mary Fresta and I am delighted to continue my teaching career at Waldron Mercy Academy. I am a proud graduate of Merion Mercy Academy, I love the mercy mind of education. After receiving my degree from Immaculate University, I met and married my husband, Louis, of 29 years and raised our 5 children.  My first year at Waldron Mercy Academy was spent as a substitute teacher subbing in grades Pre-K through eighth grade, I was thrilled when offered the position of 7/8th grade Religion teacher. This is my 5th year teaching at Waldron.  In my free time, I love spending time on the beach , and listening to opera.

Teaching mission:  My mission is to create a classroom where all students feel they are part of my family of learning. My promise to my students is to ALWAYS believe in them and to let them know I am here to support them. In my eyes, they are capable of great things, and I will always listen, and NEVER give up on them, because their success is my success.

Mercy Neighborhood Ministries After School Program

After School Permission - Mercy Neighborhood Ministries

Please complete this permission form for your child to have the ability to participate in the Mercy Neighborhood after school program. 7th and 8th graders have the opportunity to prepare for and lead and arts and crafts activity during an after school program at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries on Wednesday afternoons. Students spend one week deciding on and preparing for an activity. And the following week, they visit Mercy Neighborhood and lead this project. Faculty drive WMA students and they return around 5pm. Given seasonal commitments, it is no problem if students can't participate throughout the year.

Catechist's Prayer

Gracious and all-loving Father, out of love for all people you spoke your Word who became flesh for our salvation. May your Word transform me so that the message of your Son, our Lord, may be echoed through my teaching. Allow me to guide the hearts of those whom I teach in such a way that they will enter more deeply into your way of truth and salvation. Grant me the insight needed to lead my students to know, love, and serve You. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may they become hearers and followers of your Word, so that they might help transform the world to follow the way of life to which your Son has called us all, for He lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
