On March 22nd, we will have three events throughout the day to increase disability awareness and allow current disabled students to come together. These events include Puppies & Pastries, a Disability Research Symposium, and an Alumni Q+A.
Puppies & Pastries: 10am - 12pm, Daily Grind
Canine Companions for Independence will be giving a short presentation on their service dog training protocol and the impacts it has had. Coffee and assorted pastries will be provided, as well as various community-building activities for a chill and fun time.
Disability Research Symposium: 1 - 3pm, Tidewater B
Current William & Mary students are invited to present their own disability related research or literature reviews. Student presenters will be set up around the room for people to freely roam and discover at their own pace.
Alumni Q+A: 4:30 - 6pm, James Room
Disabled William & Mary alumni will come together with current students to discuss topics such as future education, post-graduate career path, and self-advocacy. Questions will be prepared in advance but there will be time for real time audience questions as well.
