As shown here, I used a pole to mark the general location where I wanted the stack. I then duplicated the pole, converted it into coin shapes, and placed them at different positions along the pole
First, I created the body of the chest, followed by the lid and the platform.
Next, I modeled the “rails” and screws, which are the black objects visible in the photos.
At that stage, I worked on the lid’s rotation so it could properly open and close.
After that, I added colors to the chest.
Then, I created the coins. To do this, I started with a rod as a base, scaled it down to coin thickness, and stacked several to form a pile. I duplicated the stack (using Command+D) and distributed the copies throughout the chest.
Finally, I created the ground/sand by inserting a plane and using the Sculpting Tool (found under Mesh Tools → Sculpting Tools) to shape the terrain into small mountains. To finish, I changed the background color to blue to represent the sky.
Originally, the chest was shorter. In this version, I increased its height.
I adjusted the lid’s coloration to better match the reference chest.
