The Story
The Story
There is a small ball that is rolling lazily across a playroom floor until a strange chest catches its attention. The lid creaks open, and the ball jumps up to look inside with curiosity before rolling away to gather momentum. With a burst of excitement, it leapt back toward the chest, hesitated for a split second in midair, and then dropped inside just as the lid closed behind it. The ball lands inside the chest and looks around, immediately noticing a mysterious object resting in the chest. The brave little ball rolls towards it, the ball jumps up to get a better look, then spots a blue square on the floor nearby. It rolls onto the square and is lifted upward, placing it level with the strange object. Curious and a little brave, the ball rolls onto it and jumps once more to test it, and in an instant, it is launched high into the air. The ball soars upward, higher and higher, until...SPLAT! It hits the chest’s lid, ending the adventure in an unexpected and comical finale.

Explanation
Explanation
To make my animation, I worked with three main scenes: the playroom, the chest interior with the mysterious object, and the splat sequence.
In the playroom scene, the animation begins with a ball rolling toward a chest. The chest opens, and the ball jumps up to inspect it before rolling away to gain momentum. The ball then returns and jumps into the chest before it closes. Midair, the ball briefly pauses before falling inside, rolling slightly in excitement just before dropping in completely.
Inside the chest, the ball lands and notices a mysterious object. It jumps to inspect it more closely and then spots a blue square on the ground. The ball rolls over to the square, is lifted upward, and is level with the mysterious object, and proceeds to roll onto it. Curious, the ball jumps again to test the object and is suddenly launched upward.
In the splat sequence, the ball flies higher and higher into the air, then suddenly it goes SPLAT against the lid of the chest.
