Inclusive schools benefit all students, and lead to a more positive community at large.
Educational leaders and teachers have a key role in making schools more inclusive, where disability is part of the expected diversity within classrooms and where teachers have the tools, vision and resources to help all students be successful.
Yet the role of students in changing the culture of schools is arguably the most important factor. If we want our schools to be places where students with and without disabilities learn together, play sports together, work through conflicts together, support each other, and dream together, students must be leaders of that new reality.
The Leading for All High School Scholarship Program recognizes students whose leadership has made a significant difference in helping their high school to become more inclusive in all ways, and particularly for students with disabilities. Preference will be given to students with outstanding leadership, both with and without disabilities. Leadership could be in activities such as Unified, Peer Mentoring, or in helping other parts of our schools become more inclusive.
This scholarship is funded by a combination of proceeds from the Leading for All book published by Corwin, and the generous donations of WLWV School District partners.
For spring 2026 each scholarship will be $1000 per student
