Mariachi Program

The Woodland Joint Unified Mariachi program was established in 2020 during the pandemic and has grown throughout the school district starting at the middle school level. The current program serves students at both Middle School and High School sites. The mariachi program is one of few in the northern section and offers the opportunity to learn traditional mariachi instruments such as the vihuela, guitarron, violin, trumpet and the guitar. Students perform throughout the year at school concerts and events throughout Yolo county. Woodland currently has two mariachi instructors. The district offers a three week mariachi summer academy for students interested in expanding their learning during the month of June. If you would like more information about this program please contact a site principal or our Mariachi directors.
