Ms. Jean Davis

Strings Teacher

This is Ms. Davis' fourth year teaching strings for WJUSD. She has been involved in music since starting piano lessons in the second grade and holds a degree in music education from CSU, Chico and did graduate study at CSU, Fullerton. She began her career at the high school level, teaching for one year at Valley High School in the Elk Grove Unified School District. She has 24 years experience teaching instrumental, vocal and classroom music for grades K-8 in private schools in Sacramento. Ms. Davis lives in Sacramento and is a violist in the Camellia Symphony.

Mr. Greg Hales

Band Teacher

Mr. Greg Hales joined the music staff of the WJUSD in the Fall of 1999. A graduate from Vacaville High School, he did his music studies in Music Education and Tuba at San Francisco State University. He finished getting his teaching credential at Chapman University. Prior to join the district he did music long term, and short term subbing in the Vacaville School District where he graduate from. Greg taught in the Walnut Creek School District from 1998-1999.

When joining WJUSD in 1999 he opened the new elementary school: Ramon Tafoya Elementary School. In the fall of 2001 Greg also started teaching at Woodland Prairie Elementary School. He has been teaching music at those two sites since.

In addition to mainly teaching at those two site, he has also taught music at Grafton Elementary School (now Sci Tech), Beamer Elementary, Freeman Elementary, Maxwell Elementary and Plainfield Elementary.
