The Sound of Magic

The Sound of Magic is a kdrama based on a teenage girl by the name of Ah-yi who is forced to grow up too fast and alone thanks to her father’s gambling and her mother who abandoned her. Ah-yi is alone in the world with her sister who must be taken care of. Additionally, she struggles with the debt her father has left her with and experiences bullying at school. The show also includes her friend Na il-deung, the highest-ranked student who falls for Ah-yi. Ah-Yi, wanting to escape from the real world, meets a mysterious magician named Lee Eul in an abandoned theme park. Eul is a man with a penchant for a childlike love of magic and fantasy who lives in a world of magic far away from harsh reality. I felt so bad seeing Lee Eul suffer in the show and everything that Ah-yi went through, but in the end, it teaches you that you are important and that you matter. This drama really touched my heart, made me cry and was just very heartwarming. I personally really liked this kdrama, and also rather enjoyed the songs and dances. Everything was well put together and the plot fits so perfectly, by the end it truly made me believe in magic again. I would definitely recommend watching this kdrama.
