In order to reinforce the IB philosophy that there is more to education than what occurs in the classroom, students will also engage regularly in CAS experiences during the course of their Junior and Senior year. The student will be engaged in a combination of creative, athletic, and community service activities.
All experiences are reflected on through students' journal entries. Reflections are not graded, but rather serve as an opportunity to discover for themselves the value of their CAS experiences. The final product is a portfolio of activity that proves that IB Diploma Students are well rounded both in and out of the classroom.
The seven desired CAS outcomes are:
• increased their awareness of their own strengths and areas for growth
• undertaken new challenges
• planned and initiated activities
• shown perseverance and commitment in their activities
• worked collaboratively with others
• engaged with issues of global importance
• considered the ethical implications of their actions
