My name is Jennifer Hirdt and I am a science teacher at Beach Street Middle School. I teach Biology and 8th Grade Science. This is my 23rd year teaching in the West Islip school district. I spent 17 years at the high school and this is my sixth year at Beach Street. I am passionate about learning and truly enjoy teaching! I have a second career in healthcare and continue to work per diem in the hospital setting. This site will provide you with important information such as contact information, class contract, course outline, state lab makeup dates, etc. I hope you find this site useful. Supplies needed for Biology:
2 - 3 inch binder - divided into 2 sections (Classwork & Lab)
Loose leaf paper
Workbook (brought to class DAILY)
Pencils/Pens/Highlighters/Post It Notes
Calculator (the one students have for math is fine)
Folder
Supplies needed for Science 8 are the same except no post it notes are needed!
