Kerala, faced an unprecedented natural disaster in 2018, with monsoon rains and heavy flooding killing hundreds of people and displacing over a million. WisMA, joined hands with Greater Milwaukee Tamil Sangam (GMTS) and organised a fund raiser event on August 25, 2018 to support the recovery and rehabilitation of the affected. St. Therese Parish and the Brookfield Gurudwara supported the event wholeheartedly by lending their facilities. This combined community effort resulted in a total collection of $23,392.54. The collected funds were donated to the Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF)
