Delivery Components
SMART Goals by Delivery Component
Individual Planning: The school counselor will meet individually with all students to support and address student academic, personal, social, and career needs by May 2024.
Guidance: By March 2024, the school counselor will provide career guidance activities appropriate to grade level to ensure proper placement in coherent course sequences by providing them with classroom presentations.
Responsive Services: By March 2024, the school counselor will conduct at least 1 parent meeting for students in danger of not graduating.
System Support: By May 2024, all students and staff will have participated in over 30 SEL lessons
Activities by Service Delivery Component
Individual Planning:
Individual student conferences at least two-three times a year
Individual course selection and four-year planning once a year
Career options and financial considerations for post-secondary education for each student
College/Military Decision Day to celebrate individual senior's post secondary plans
Guidance:
Guidance lessons addressing academic requirements, college and career readiness, career and technology education at least twice a year
Weekly guidance lessons via SEL, topics include: substance use prevention, healthy relationships, anti-bullying,etc
Red Ribbon Week Campaign- Drug and Alcohol Prevention
Guest Speakers to promote drug awareness and prevention before students are released for Spring Break: Senior Safety Seminar.
Career and Technology showcase for students and Parent Nights: Spooktacular CTE program Showcase October 2023
College and Career Readiness Specialist- College application drives, FAFSA application drives, Parent Nights
Responsive Services:
Staff training on suicide prevention
Staff training on Bullying and Bullying Prevention
Collaboration with the community to distribute food to families in need
Secret Angel: adopt a student in need of a Christmas gift
Conference with parents and students in danger of not graduating, review list every 3 weeks
Crisis interventions for staff and students
District has in-house Licensed Professional Counselors to assist students and staff in need and provide continuous counseling services
Partner with our local city police department for Campus Crime Stoppers
System Support:
Staff Self-Care Professional Development
Student Data Meetings
Counselor representative on all campus committees
Attend monthly district counseling meetings
Meet weekly as the counseling department
Critical Incident/Active Shooter Response Training for staff and community
