This is an exclusive musical group which students have an opportunity to experience. The mariachi ensemble offers an enjoyable and rewarding overall experience. The Mariachi strives for a performance standard of excellence while affording each individual an opportunity for personal growth and overall musicianship.

This program requires students that desire discipline and dedication to maximize their potential. Preparation is of utmost importance and crucial to the group’s success; therefore, persistence and hard work of each and every student is imperative. The compelling enthusiasm of forming part of the Mariachi is what the Director advocates. After all the hard work is done we rejoice in our accomplishments and contemplate on our group weaknesses in order to progress.

The routine implemented in class and repertoire performed, is chosen based on the entertainment value of certain pieces and aimed to challenge individual musicianship and the Mariachi as a whole. We give earnest commitment to serve Weslaco High School, Central Middle School and B. Garza Middle School, the community, and Weslaco ISD.
